Ms. Annalee Hixson

Annalee Hixson returned to her alma mater in 2021 serving as the Assistant Director for two years. She then became the head director and led the Rice Band Program through the transition to new leadership. Under her direction, the students in the Rice Band continue to achieve excellence in everything they do in and out of the classroom.

After growing up in Plano, Ms. Hixson pursued her Music Education degree at Baylor University.  While at Baylor, she performed with the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble on saxophone and spent three years in the Wayne Fisher Jazz Program.  Ms. Hixson also served on Staff for the Golden Wave Band for two years, assisting with the behind the scenes planning and preparation involved in running a successful organization.  Ms. Hixson graduated summa cum laude and received the Collegiate Music Educator Award from the Texas Music Educators Association, given to students showing high levels of dedication and promise in the field of music education.

Outside of the classroom, Ms. Hixson enjoys collecting Harry Potter items, reading, needlework, and taking care of her plants and fish. She also loves playing with her dog, Tonks, and cats, Minerva and Bellatrix. Recently, she became an aunt and loves spending time with family, including her niece and nephew, sisters, parents and cousins. 

Mr. Stucki grew up in Columbus, Ohio and moved to Texas to pursue his Bachelor of Music Education degree at Baylor University. While at Baylor, Mr. Stucki performed with the Baylor Wind Ensemble at the 76th Midwest Clinic, and the 2022 Southwestern CBDNA conference. He also performed with the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, the Golden Wave Band, the Baylor Horn Choir, and other various chamber ensembles. He graduated summa cum laude, earned the TMEA award for excellence in music education, and is an inducted member of the National Music Honors Society, Pi Kappa Lambda.

For the past year Mr. Stucki has been teaching in the San Antonio area and is now excited to continue his career continuing the tradition of excellence in the Rice Raven Band! In his free time, Mr. Stucki enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, trying new restaurants, and playing disc golf recreationally and competitively.
